The rise and fall of RDC {hence, resurrection}

The end of August is near and the beginning brought many great tidings. I begun on a new note and quickly turned sour. RDC is not a company that is supposed of be a great success {or is it}? Since its inception {even under the old name} problems were had every single time--but I kept resurrecting with time. Again, as normal problems were found out and again.....no immediate future.

So......I am going to focus on a business that does show signs of prospering/flourishing---which is Marshall Investigation and...... a business my father begun and we took over after he died. It does make money and honestly is more lucrative than a dance company. Perhaps when MISA is walking well on its own, RDC will come alive.

RDC has four new dancers and one original member--but I feel it needs to be ran the way I feel comfortable. If I am not being heard in rehearsal, ignored, and invisible---I am not going to enjoy it. So, I let people go who were not shaping the direction of the company and re-vamped. My decision was, it is not the time for RDC to make a stand.

On another note, I have never stressed RDC's mission enough like I did with the former mission. I cannot have indivduals serving RDC who does not believe in our mission statement and put their priorties above others who don't have alot. It is important to have people who serve the ONE campaign and believe and understand that people are dying every single day.
If I do not uphold the company's mission and allow anyone to walk into the company -- we are no different -- and I want this to be different and unqique. Rooster {Drug Addiction} is our most reckonized piece since 2003---this 6 1/2 minute piece danced by only 2 dancers, recieve thunderous applause and I don't know why {maybe because I let the memory of deceased people live on forever and not just touch on one time}
Our work is dark and hardcore {emotional, spirituality, and choreographicaly} and most people don't want to deal with the dark side of life--but life is not always happy.

In closing, our work is about life and not about "light hearted fun". When you lose perspective {as I did} the work becomes lost and the dancers don't know why they are here. A note to any future dancer or past dancers: if you can't embrace the dark side of life--maybe RDC is not your cup of tea.

And..... we are not a Christian company--but I uphold those principles and expect others to act accordingly if serving our purpose.
