Mission Statement
Resurrection Dance Company; RDC. We are interested in remembering artists who have left an impact in the world. Artists such as Michael Hutchence of INXS, Kurt Cobain of Nirvana, and Layne Staley of Alice In Chains hold important value to RDC. Our choreography, music selection, and shows reflect the importance of their exsistance, and for them to live on.
Also, RDC's portion of the mission revolves around the AIDS epidemic in Africa, as well as starvation, poverty, and disease. RDC became immensed in the campaign's ONE and Make Poverty History, and the Artistic Director is a strong suporter of both causes. While the mission is split into two different areas, the company aspires to inform the public, serving humanity, and remembering great people as well.
By everyone putting selflessness out in front, we can save many people who do not have the luxery we as Americans do. Be a humantarian, not a mediocure person.
Humananity = saving others Selfishness = killing others and yourself
NOTE: This is a slightly different version of our original statement.
Below is our original mission:
In nation that has everything under the sun, there is another continent that is stavring, dying, and fighting HIV/AIDS. This could happen to our country, United States of America. Please don’t let our country become the next epidemic.
We are a newly reformed dance company trying to seek out dancers to be a part of this ground-breaking company. Help this nation by becoming a dancer and lend your voice to Make Poverty History, ONE., and Bread For the World.
STEP ONE: Sign the One/Make Poverty History campaign…..signing the campaign, you send a message to the political leaders in our nation and overseas.
STEP TWO: Get others involved….involve your church or community group. Order bulletin inserts from Bread For the World at 1-800-82-bread.
RDC MISSION: In a world devoid of peace, happiness, and truths we find rumour, gossip, and war.
But that is not the painstaking ordeal….Africa is! Everyday people are dying of AIDS, hunger, and poverty while we sit at home in America and complain how bad life is. In the UK, our sister, Make Poverty History, has over 1,000 links dedicated to this global epidemic. The US doesn’t have near that many…wake up and save a life.
In the company we hope to have members who just don’t dance…but believe in a cause. We don’t live where we have to worry if we get to eat that night. RDC believes we can make a difference with our voices and support to let a child eat, have a bed to sleep in, or simply live another day.
Remember, RDC doesn’t just dance…but dance to make a difference.
